Teddy FairchildTeddy Fairchild

Associate/Youth Pastor

Church wasn’t part of Teddy’s childhood, and he led a very secular lifestyle. From age seven, his only passion in life was to join the United States Marine Corps. That dream became a reality at age 18, and he quickly moved up the ranks as a proud member of the USMC.

In 2000, after five years with the Marine Corps, injuries received during active duty sent Teddy back to his hometown of Huntington, Ind., with a medical discharge. Every aspect of his life seemed to be crumbling around him. Yet looking back, he can see God’s faithful hand at work.

Teddy pursued a degree in Mathematics, and had his first job as a high school math teacher in place, when Christ opened his eyes to yet another twist on his journey, another unexpected bend in the road. God fueled a passion to serve the church.

So, Teddy returned to school again to pursue pastoral ministry. He was working on his degree in Biblical Studies at Huntington University when God brought him and his wife, Sarah, to Praise Point Church in April of 2008.

Teddy says, “Christ has put on my heart the mission to draw others one step closer in their journey and walk with Christ. He has ignited within me a passion to lead the youth in studying the Bible and forming their own personal faith, enabling them to draw out truths from Scripture and establish a faith that stands when they move on from youth group and enter adulthood.

“Though my past may not fit the mold of what some believe a pastor should come from, I am grateful that God has grown me through every experience and is now using those times, both good and bad, to allow me to connect with and relate to such a broad spectrum of people. He truly is a gracious God for whom nothing is impossible.”
