Mark RutledgeMark Rutledge

Associate Pastor

 

Mark Rutledge grew up in the Otterbein United Brethren in Christ church near Rockford, Ohio. He graduated from Rockford high school in 1959 and enrolled in Huntington College as a business major.

 

The summer after his freshman year, he felt the call to ministry at the campground in Rockford. That fall he changed his major to History in preparation for seminary.

 

Between his junior and senior years at Huntington, Mark was assigned as pastor of Willshire United Brethren church. While there he married Kathleen Brunstrup; they celebrted their 45th anniversary on October 19, 2008.

 

Mark graduated form Huntington College in 1963 with a B.A. in History and from St. Francis College (Fort Wayne,Ind.) in 1969 with is Masters in Guidance and Counseling. He also has credits from Huntington College Graduate School of Christian Ministry, University of Dayton, Wright State University, and Ball State University.

 

Mark has served United Brethern churches for over 30 years, usually as a bi-vocational minister. His other ministry has been in the public schools, where he worked for 39 years as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and guidance counselor before retiring in 2006.
